Great experience! The crew were amazing! Jose did a fantastic job. My daughter had a blast, and getting a Captain certificate gave her the biggest smile. Have recommended the experience to friends. Great tour, loved the river tour part the most. And the history and knowledge of the area was great. Touching on the wildlife and sealife in the area.

We chose to travel on the Aqua Duck tour while on holidays on the Sunshine Coast. The staff were extremely friendly and gave a great tour of the local area. There were many jokes along the way and an overall cheerful vibe. Our two kids had a fantastic time and were overjoyed when they were given the chance to drive the vehicle. Highly recommended for a fun and informative activity on the Dunshine Coast!

The tour is seasonal and operational from September to March. During this period, the tour is available every day of the week, except Tuesday.
The tour is available in five slots, between 10 AM and 4:15 PM.

Best Time To Visit: Peak season in Sunshine Coast is usually from December to February. This is when the weather is the most pleasant, but you can expect high crowds as well. If you wish to avoid crowds, try visiting in between September and November.

The closest bus stop is Mooloolaba on River Esplanade, three minutes away. Bus numbers 600, 611 and 615 stop here.

Car Parking: The closest car parking is at Park & Go Mooloolaba on the Corner of Smith Street and First Avenue.

  • Safety equipment: The vessel is equipped with life jackets, life rings, floatation devices and other emergency equipment. The boat drivers are trained in first aid and CPR.

  • Wheelchair accessibility: The tour is not wheelchair accessible. There are 5 steps to board the vessel and the crew can assist in getting you on board. 
  • The stairs have rope handrails on both sides to assist you in climbing the stairs into the vessel. 
  • Hearing and visually impaired people are welcome aboard with a companion. Companion card holders are eligible for a 50% discount on their tickets. 
  • There is no room to store prams and strollers on board, or even at the boarding point. Please avoid carrying them with you for the tour. 
  • Service animals are permitted on board the vessel.

  • Infants below 2 years of age can board the vessel for free and must be seated on adults’ laps. Child prices are applicable for children between 2-16 years of age. 
  • Arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your departure time to ensure you are well settled. 
  • Outside food is not permitted on board. Guests are allowed to carry a water bottle. 
  • You can cancel your ticket up to 48 hours prior to departure. 
  • Photography is permitted on board.

Visitor Tips

  • Duration: The tour lasts one hour and departs and arrives at the same location which is adjacent to SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast. 
  • Clothing: Please dress comfortably. The chances of you getting wet on the vessel are limited, as there are clear pull-downs on each side in case of rain. 
  • Kid-friendly: As part of the Aquaduck experience, all children on board are offered a chance to steer the boat if they wish and are offered a certificate to commemorate the experience. 
  • Safety: You will be provided with a life jacket once the vessel transitions to the water, which is compulsory for you to wear. 
  • Seasonal: The Aquaduck tour is seasonal and usually operates only from September to January every year.
  • Toilets: The closest toilets are public washrooms on the Wharf. There are no washroom facilities on board.
